​Welcome to Bella Dory Cakes........

My passion for all things sweet is something that has been with me since i was very young.Who said you couldn't have dessert first?

Although i was brought up in a household that wasn't interested in baking, i always watched cookery programmes and thought it would be something i would love to do.....but other things in life took over and it wasn't until i settled down and had children that i would use any excuse to have people over for dinner, just so i could make a dessert.

My first ever cake was for my daughter's 7th birthday (she is now 15), it was fairly simple but none the less everyone commented on it, saying how lovely it looked and tasted,  from then on i made all my children's cakes, and became more confident.

Now not only do i love home baking i love the process of decorating celebration cakes and be able to use my imagination. 

I was then introduced to a lovely woman called Nadine who owns her own catering business (Leave it to Us), and started waitressing, after a little while it led to me doing all of her home baking & desserts, and as they say the rest is history.

As for the name!!!.....................after a few failed attempts of brain storming, it was actually staring me right in the face, so to speak. Bella being a short version of my name (Isabelle) and Dory (Finding Nemo)being.....well!!!! a nickname given to me by my friends, totally unfounded i might add...... so really i should be thanking them.

​Hummm!!!!....... Maybe i'll bake them a cake.... 

 



The best feeling is bringing a clients idea to life and seeing a smile on their face, which for me is the icing on the cake.
